Introduction to the Unix Shell: Part 2 Online

This is the second part of a two day workshop that will focus on the Unix Shell. This workshop is an introduction to the Unix Shell for participants with no programming experience. Day one will start with basic information about the Unix Shell as well as how to navigate and work with files and directories in the Unix Shell. Day two will focus on how to automate tasks and count and mine things in the Unix Shell using pipes and filters, loops, shell scripts, and the grep command. 


At the conclusion of this workshop, the Research Data Services Program will hold Office Hours to answer any questions anyone might have about our lessons or research data management.
