Play with Data (& Play-doh™)!

Play with Data (& Play-doh™)!

Do you hate spreadsheets but love play-dough? Or are you new to working with data and want to learn new ways to play with it? Then this workshop is for you!

Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop - literally! play-dough provided - where we will use databasic.io to work with some different types of data in fun ways. The DataBasic tools allow beginners to play with data and explore what stories that data might have to tell.

WordCounter will analyze your text and tell you the most common words and phrases. WTFcsv will tell you WTF is going on with your csv file. SameDiff will compare two different text files and tell you about the differences. And ConnectTheDots will show you how your data is connected by analyzing it as a network.

This workshop is part of the local LoveDataWeek2019 celebration taking place February 11-15 in the UB Libraries. All are welcome!
